Certificate Program and/or Associates Degree Program
Globe Institute offers a Certificate Program and a full Associates Degree Program in Sound Therapy and Healing -- the study of the effect of sound on human beings physiologically, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually. The Certificate Program is the first semester of a four semester Associates Degree Program.

The Certificate program is a comprehensive curriculum designed to provide students with a broad perspective on this expanding industry, enabling them to focus on their areas of interest. The Degree program then goes deeper into each of the areas of study with additional classes on Research and Clinical Psychology Ethics. The Certificate gets you to the point where you can utilize a variety of sound healing techniques, whereas the Degree program trains you to be a Sound Therapist with all the responsibility that comes with the career.

Sound Therapy and Healing Certificate Program - 198 Hours
This program still gives you a full perspective of everything going on in the field and is focused on Sound, Transformation and Therapy. The Labs are focused on using natural healing techniques.

The curriculum begins with an examination of the basic structure of sound and harmonics. We then use the harmonic structure of sound as a basis for understanding music theory and how musical intervals relate to and create different states of consciousness. All of this information is used to explore the human voice as a sound healing tool. We examine the physiology of the body, including a thorough examination of the composition of the human being from the physical to the spiritual. Students then take this information into the lab where they begin their own exploration of the effects of sound upon themselves and others. We explore the use of sound to bring people into altered states of consciousness and shift individuals into particular brainwave states, such as delta, theta and alpha. Finally, we look at the intersection of music, sound, vibration, consciousness, color, light, math and science. By studying the correspondences between all of these areas we see the interconnectedness of all human beings to each other, to nature and to the universe.

Sound Healing Music Production - Recording, Mixing and ProTools - 66 hours
This Program is completely separate from the above Certificate Program
(You may take both in one semester)
$1485 for 11 classes and 11 labs
The program is much more extensive and provides enough hands-on time to run ProTools, do Recording, Mixing and Mastering from a PsychoAcoustic Perspective. The labs in this program are in our 4 recording studios providing a large amount of hands-on time. Even if you don't want to be a recording engineer, this class is still good for those interested in Music Production (you can still go as deep into the music technology as you prefer in the labs), and to just be able to communicate with Recording Engineers as a musician.

The night schedule requires three nights per week with some weekends.
Those with a tight schedule (or family) may complete the entire certificate program over 2 semesters.

Summer Intensive
Six days per week with Fridays off. Classes are from 10-1, 2-5, and 6:30-9:30PM. There is no evening class on Sunday evening.

Size
Classes are limited to 25 people, so classes are small enough to address specific questions and concerns of each student.

PS110 9 Hrs $185	BioPhysical Model of Mind, Body and Spirit 3 Classes The human body is a remarkable symphony of matter, energy, information and consciousness. While modern medicine and biology have focused almost exclusively on the dense, material aspects of the body (bones, muscles, organs, nerves, etc.), ancient traditions have always understood that all the aspects of our existence are inseparable. As our culture moves slowly toward a “new” paradigm of mind-body holism, for thousands of years these traditions have taught that there is no connection between mind and body because there is fundamentally no separation between them – therefore, no connection is needed. Body and Soul will explore many conventional notions of the body – including important concepts from standard anatomy and physiology – but from the unique perspective of how the body is organized as a physical expression of consciousness. You will learn sound techniques for connecting with people from a heart center, creating more intimacy in relationships, and connecting the spiritual love. PS140A 15 Hrs $325	The Healing Voice 5 Classes You will learn a technique for using your voice for healing. You will learn the wide range of sounds that can be made with the voice and their effects. But most importantly, you will learn how to connect to spirit and trust that spirit will create the sounds in your voice that are most needed. We will also discuss and practice techniques for holding your own field so as not to take on the energy being released by the client. You will come away with a powerful skill for helping yourself and others. We base the sound healing work on two assumptions: a) To be centered, sensitive and responsive, we must be familiar with different feeling states, and learn how sound, energy and intention can surrender into a self-aware state. b) To become conscious with sound, we must develop physical/sensory recognition of subtle changes and acquire a relationship with the inner landscape through Spiritual attunement. PS140B 6 Hrs $120	Acutonics Tuning Fork Treatments 2 Classes An energy-based non-invasive treatment that is similar to acupuncture. Precision calibrated tuning forks are applied to specific acupuncture and acupressure points to access the body's Meridian and Chakra energy systems. The sound waves of the forks vibrate and travel deeply into the body along energy pathways, affecting human physiology and reaching places not easily accessed by traditional medicine. Applying the forks stimulates and balances the body's physical and subtle energy field to promote healing and inner harmony.
PS140C 6 Hrs $80	Sacred Voice 2 classes The voice is the ultimate healer, self contained within our sacred body. We will explore what we can "hear" when we truly listen… and then re-sound with it. We will discuss how to use the voice as an intentional healing form and how to therapeutically focus the voice for chakra balancing, emotional clearing, and relaxation using gongs, drums, shruti box and chimes. Exercises utilizing multiple modalities will engage our self expression and break through perceived limitations and inhibitions. We will learn to access the sublimated pure tone through the vocal exercises developed with Rudolf Steiner (“Uncovering the Voice method”). PS140D 15 Hrs $160	Toning, Chanting and Mantra 5 classes When used with intention, our own voice can be a miraculous healing tool. It is a primordial pathway into our body and soul. In this workshop we will explore how sound vibrates our inner body. With toning techniques, we will experience where sound resonates and how to use that vibration to massage from the inside out, clearing the chakras, relaxing the body and releasing old outdated imprinting. Mantras are meaningful, harmonious words, phrases, verses or portions of scripture helpful for meditation, prayer and spiritual study.
