Online Sound Therapy and Healing Certificate Program - 148 Hours

The online Certificate Program Program in Sound Therapy and Healing covers the effect of sound on human beings physiologically, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually.

The Certificate program is a comprehensive curriculum designed to provide students with a broad perspective on this expanding industry, enabling them to focus on their areas of interest. The Degree program then goes deeper into each of the areas of study with additional classes on Research and Clinical Psychology Ethics. The Certificate gets you to the point where you can utilize a variety of sound healing techniques.

The curriculum begins with an examination of the basic structure of sound and harmonics. We then use the harmonic structure of sound as a basis for understanding music theory and how musical intervals relate to and create different states of consciousness. All of this information is used to explore the human voice as a sound healing tool. We examine the physiology of the body, including a thorough examination of the composition of the human being from the physical to the spiritual. Students then take this information into the lab where they begin their own exploration of the effects of sound upon themselves and others. We explore the use of sound to bring people into altered states of consciousness and shift individuals into particular brainwave states, such as delta, theta and alpha. Finally, we look at the intersection of music, sound, vibration, consciousness, color, light, math and science. By studying the correspondences between all of these areas we see the interconnectedness of all human beings to each other, to nature and to the universe.

Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays 6-8 PM and Saturdays 10 AM - 1 PM. All times are Pacific Standard Time.
You may take individual classes only. You may also complete the course over several semesters.

TUITION
If you pay in full the program is $2500. If you take classes individually it ends up being $3400.
If you pay in full by Thursday, October 9th you will get an additional $400 discount -- therefore, tuition would be $2100.

David will also be available by email randomly. Often he will get back to you almost immediately. Maximum time would normally only be 12 hours (except on weekends).

You will also be able to email other students with questions.

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
- You must have computer.
- It is also nice to have a webcam so we can see you. The cheapest is around $30. You can do a search on the web to find one.
- You will also need a headset to be able to communicate by voice through the computer. Headsets range also start around $30. We recommend to get one from Plantronics www.Plantronics.com ,however any will do.
You don't need to buy an software. We use a meeting software that only requires you to log on. You will be able to see the instructor's computer screen (if they are using a computer).
- We will be emailing you handouts. We will also email music at times. If an instructor has a video to show, we will normally post it on Youtube.com. The instructor may play a video in realtime on their screen also.

Not all classes are offered each semester and the number of hours for each course may be different each semester (if so, the price will be adjusted)

PS110 2 classes $100	BioPhysical Model of Mind, Body and Spirit The human body is a remarkable symphony of matter, energy, information and consciousness. While modern medicine and biology have focused almost exclusively on the dense, material aspects of the body (bones, muscles, organs, nerves, etc.), ancient traditions have always understood that all the aspects of our existence are inseparable. As our culture moves slowly toward a “new” paradigm of mind-body holism, for thousands of years these traditions have taught that there is no connection between mind and body because there is fundamentally no separation between them – therefore, no connection is needed. Body and Soul will explore many conventional notions of the body – including important concepts from standard anatomy and physiology – but from the unique perspective of how the body is organized as a physical expression of consciousness. In addition to lecture and discussion, we will use guided meditation, movement, touch and sound to directly experience the essential unity of life and the factors that influence it. You will learn sound techniques for connecting with people from a heart center, creating more intimacy in relationships, and connecting the spiritual love. In this unique 2 day workshop you will use sound to open up and access deeper levels of connecting through love. This workshop will open your heart to others and spirit (love from above). The course is equal parts conceptual and experiential. Fifty-percent of the coursework will be spent experiencing core rhythm energies, in simple-yet-profound group rhythm exercises. PS140A 4 classes $200	The Healing Voice You will learn a technique for using your voice for healing. You will learn the wide range of sounds that can be made with the voice and their effects. But most importantly, you will learn how to connect to spirit and trust that spirit will create the sounds in your voice that are most needed. We will also discuss and practice techniques for holding your own field so as not to take on the energy being released by the client. You will come away with a powerful skill for helping yourself and others.
PS140C 2 classes $100	Sacred Voice The voice is the ultimate healer, self contained within our sacred body. We will explore what we can "hear" when we truly listen… and then re-sound with it. We will discuss how to use the voice as an intentional healing form and how to therapeutically focus the voice for chakra balancing, emotional clearing, and relaxation using gongs, drums, shruti box and chimes. Exercises utilizing multiple modalities will engage our self expression and break through perceived limitations and inhibitions. We will learn to access the sublimated pure tone through the vocal exercises developed with Rudolf Steiner (“Uncovering the Voice method”). Sessions will include improvisation and a creative experiential format that allows for discovery and joy in the singing process. Our goal is to access the "healing moment" through our vocalizations. PS140D 4 classes $200	Toning, Chanting and Mantra When used with intention, our own voice can be a miraculous healing tool. It is a primordial pathway into our body and soul. In this workshop we will explore how sound vibrates our inner body. With toning techniques, we will experience where sound resonates and how to use that vibration to massage from the inside out, clearing the chakras, relaxing the body and releasing old outdated imprinting. We will learn chants from several ethnic traditions and feel the commonality and differences of rhythm and pulse. Through Vocal Meditation we will discover how to create our own sacred chant.
